The SA LP5080SD-01 is a rugged broadband log periodic antenna designed for wideband communications, spectrum monitoring, EMC testing, EW, SIGINT, and direction finding applications requiring continuous coverage from 50 to 800 MHz. Extending performance below the traditional 60 MHz range, the antenna provides useful gain beginning at 50 MHz while maintaining stable directional characteristics across the VHF and UHF spectrum.
Featuring an open-frame aluminum construction, the antenna delivers 6 dBi nominal gain throughout most of its operating band, with approximately 3 dBi at 60 MHz and 0 dBi at 50 MHz, making it well suited for broadband monitoring and receive/transmit applications where low-frequency coverage is critical. A typical 2.5:1 VSWR across the primary operating band minimizes mismatch loss, while the rugged mechanical design supports both fixed-site and mobile installations.
The antenna is rated for 100 W CW, uses a 50-ohm N-Type female connector, and mounts directly to a rear mast bracket for straightforward installation. Typical beamwidths of 70° E-plane and 150° H-plane provide broad directional coverage while maintaining useful forward gain over the entire frequency range.
